Doctor Who Season 8 Episode 8 Mummy on the Orient Express - What happened here?

Another exciting episode Doctor Who Season 8 will be airing today. This episode is entitled "Mummy on the Orient Express". Clara takes one last trip with the Doctor, who takes her on a replica of the Orient Express flying through the stars. But matters soon have a deadly turn when a legendary mummy known only while the Foretold starts killing people one by one.

The Twelfth Doctor’s callous and ruthless nature is on display again in this episode. He won't spend your time mourning each successive death, and he compels Clara to lie to Maisie to bring her to him so he is able to find out more from her death.

But just how much of it really is callousness and just how much is brutal honesty? As he tells Clara after ward, he wasn’t ready where he could promise he could save yourself Maisie but he previously to choose between a selection of bad choices – a predicament which should resonate with Clara after her own moral dilemma in Kill the Moon.

This incarnation also offers a streak of recklessness. We’ve seen him jump from windows and bridges. He’s plunged into cracks in the moon’s surface (Kill the Moon). And here he deliberately makes himself the Foretold’s next target, backing himself to resolve in 66 seconds a mystery that has gone unsolved for tens and thousands of years.

With a whole group of regenerations to fall right back on, perhaps this goes some way to describe his cavalier attitude to their own mortality while losing his empathy for the humans who risk or lose their very own lives due to meeting him.

Overall, this is yet another strong standalone story thanks to Who debutant Jamie Mathieson, even though the set-up was reminiscent of Voyage of the Damned. Never miss to watch this episode guys.
